  1. Discretion, maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of all client matters.
  2. Foresight, which allows us to estimate or determine whether intended actions will result in expected goals or outcome.
  3. Practical judgment by which we weigh different options to determine which will result in the best possible outcome.
  4. and reasoning by which we do research and compare alternatives.

In addition to being our clients’ diligent and zealous advocates, our clients take the lead in all decision-making processes until the end of their matter.

Mission statement

At Prudentia Law, we aim to provide personalized legal services through innovative solutions with discretion, foresight, practical judgment and reasoning. With professionalism, integrity, understanding and compassion, our primary objective is to be the best legal representatives by putting our clients and their interests at the forefront of all actions. At Prudentia Law, we put our clients and their interests first.

Prudentia Law was founded by Valerie Muguoh Chiatoh. Valerie’s interest in pursuing law was born from depressing stories of how the rights of the incarcerated with no legal representatives were always abused. As a son of a corrections officer, while growing up, Valerie’s father would tell them stories of minors and others, incarcerated in the most horrible conditions for issues that could have been quickly resolved by competent legal representation.

Valerie has an out-and-out passion for the use of law to improve and/or build equality, inclusiveness, and respect for diversity, and to help others. To realize this passion, Valerie was privileged to work in various countries and international organizations as a legal practitioner and acquired experiences in zealous advocacy for clients in otherwise cumbersome circumstances. The following are some of the places Valerie has worked in:

  • Legal Aid Commission of the Northwest Territories, Yellowknife: Defense Counsel
  • United Nations Organization (New York): Associate Legal Officer
  • United Nations Organization (New York): Legal Intern
  • Centre for Research and Practice in Human Rights Law (Istanbul): Research Associate
  • Minority Rights Group International (London): Legal Intern
  • Afrigrants Resources Ltd, Abuja: Office Manager

Valerie’s understanding of laws, diligence, attention to detail, and his humane approach to everyone have enabled him to give his utmost with success throughout his career. Valerie approaches every client and case with prudential values and virtues in mind, while adapting methods, analyses, and procedures to the circumstances of every case.
